CAN Network Configuration

The Machine Actions functionality enables the user to configure the CAN Network parameters of the machine within the DataPortal interface, e.g. , e.g. CAN 1, 2, 3 + CAN Identifier as well as the Baudrate (e.g. "shutdown in...").

This allows you to set parameters during the initial configuration of the machine, before connecting the device to a CAN Bus.

Warning

WARNING: Configure these parameters before the machine is operational and verify that there are no problems when the gateway is connected to the CAN Bus Networks of the machine. ATTENTION: Do not configure these parameters when the machine is operational in the field, it could compromise its correct operation and cause unwanted machine downtime.

Requirements

To change the information, you need the Machine:Admin permission set.

How-to

Note

After applying the new configuration, the device restarts, a NMT Restart will be applied. A warning will be displayed when saving your configuration.

  1. Go to Machine Details Page and click Manage Machine in the top-right corner.
  2. Open Advanced functions > CAN Network:

  1. Adapt the fields as desired. If you have already set some parameters, you will see the last value set.

  1. Save your configuration.

Machine Actions Use Cases

Following information can be configured to the machine as one of the following:

  • CAN Interface
  • For CAN1, CAN2 and CAN3
  • Baud rate; Selection from 125, 250, 500, 1000
  • CAN-Id; Numeric, range: 1-127
  • TCU
  • Shutdown method; Selection from
  • By ignition
    • 0x3333, 0x32: 300
    • 0x3333, 0x41: 0
  • by CAN-BUS activity
    • 0x3333, 0x32: 0
    • 0x3333, 0x41: 300000
  • send one OBW containing the default password and all the settings

A history or record of last sent values to use them as prefill can be provided by Proemion.
