First CODESYS Application

This tutorial brings your CANlink® mobile 10000 up and running with a ready-made CODESYS example project, so you can see data arrive in the DataPortal without building a project from scratch first.

Preparation

Complete the following steps before continuing:

1. Install CODESYS and its dependencies, see Install CODESYS Dependencies.
2. Add the CANlink® mobile 10000 library, see Add Proemion CANlink® mobile 10000 Library.
3. Activate the CODESYS license, see Activate CODESYS Licenses.

Load and Run the Example Project

1. Download the example project archive and the corresponding PDC file.

2. Open the project archive in the CODESYS Development System.

3. Connect to the device. Use Scan Network in the Communication Settings to locate your CANlink® mobile 10000, or enter its IP address directly.
4. Download the compiled project to the device.
5. Start the application from within the CODESYS IDE.

Verification

1. Enter the IP address of your CANlink® mobile 10000 into a web browser to access its web interface.
2. Check that the example variables are correctly initialized.
3. Wait for the next upload cycle. The logged CAN messages appear in the DataPortal.
